I had been eyeing the Vixen Mustang for a while when I got one for review. Dildos from Vixen’s Vixskin line are known to be of the most realistic feeling ones on the market. The reason I wanted to get one so bad is because I was hoping that it would help me moving from enjoying penetration with a dildo to enjoying it with a penis. Because of my bad experiences, I have a mental block that’s preventing me from enjoying PIV sex, so I was thinking that the mustang would be exactly what I needed to get over that block and make that transition.
The Vixen Mustang comes in a cylindrical plastic box. There’s a logo and brief description of the product on it. Both ends of the packaging are removable. The dildo comes in a plastic bag inside of the box.
There is no storage bag included, but the box itself makes a good storage option, even though the cap is pretty difficult to remove.
The Mustang is available in five colours; there’s three flesh tones, a bright pink, and a tie bright. I chose the tie bright because it is really pretty, and because skin coloured dildos kind of weird me out and would have been too realistic for my needs.
As soon as I took the toy of its box, I transformed into a little girl unpacking a new toy. I was so impressed by the texture of the silicone that I couldn’t quit playing with it, and wiggling it around. I kept squeezing it in my hands to feel its amazing squishiness. I was simply amazed at how realistic the Mustang feels in hands!
Like other Vixskin dildos, the Mustang has a firm silicone core inside of the squishy silicone exterior. The head doesn’t have a firm core like the shaft has, so it’s super squishy. The only thing I dislike is that the squishy silicone feels a bit sticky, but lube takes care of that.
The texture also adds to the material to make it even more realistic! There’s indeed a few veins on the shaft, a foreskin, urethra, and even a corpus spongiosum shape (from what I know of the penis anatomy).
The dildo also has a built in suction cup. I am guessing it’s made of the same silicone than the core, because it is firmer than the rest of the dildo. It also has a nice finish, which doesn’t really show up in picture but looks fantastic in real life.
How it feels
My first thought after using it was that the Mustang didn’t feel that realistic after all. I then realised that its curved shaft and prominent head were to blame, as they are not as realistic as the rest. These features aim for the g-spot, what a penis does not do naturally, but it can be really pleasuring as well as super uncomfortable. The head and the curve are perfect for that kind of stimulation and both excel at it, but I find the ridge on the head to be so sharp that it is painful if I’m not super aroused.
Although the shape doesn’t feel realistic, the texture does; however, I took a while to acknowledge this. I was deeply hoping to like the Mustang, but something about it just didn’t feel right.
I finally got to discovered what the problem was: it was feeling too realistic! Its squishiness, which is similar to a real penis just makes my PC muscles contract involuntarily (which is why sex can be uncomfortable/painful for me). The Mustang feels so lifelike that my body reacts the same way to it than to a penis!
I found out that using it on the floor with the suction cup is really pleasurable, and feels very similar to the equivalent sex position. The very precise G-spot stimulation also feels realistic in that position because it feels just like when my partner targets that spot during sex. The only problem is that the suction cup isn’t strong enough to even stay stuck on the floor. That being said, I guess I don’t need to tell you what happened to the dildo when I tried sticking it on a vertical surface.
This squatting position is the most comfortable and pleasurable way of using the dildo that I’ve found, because when squatting, the PC muscles can’t contract. If the Mustang would feel the same in every position, I would absolutely love it. That makes me think that this dildo must be an amazing toy for people who enjoy a penis and are seeking for something that feels realistic.
Personally, I was hoping that the Mustang’s realism would help me to be mentally comfortable during penetrative sex with a real penis, but it turned out that it is so realistic that my body reacts just the same way to it than it does with a penis (i.e. my vagina involuntarily contracting). I would always use it by squatting over it if the suction cup wasn’t that weak, as it’s the only position that felt really good for me.
If you are looking for a realistic dildo that looks and feels realistic, the Vixen Mustang may just be the right dildo for you. The only aspect that you could dislike in my opinion is its sharp head ring and weak suction cup. However, if you are like me, wishing get your body used to something realistic, this dildo might just be too realistic for you.
I am really disappointed that the Vixen Mustang did not work for me. It is a top quality and awesome product. So many people have fallen in love with it, and I can totally see why. I can only hope that I can to enjoy it one day, when I finally get to like having penetrative sex with a partner.
