Before being sent the Broad City Dr Wiz mini wand to try out, I had only used regular sized wands. I like them, but I find their size to be pretty inconvenient sometimes, so I was happy that Lovehoney offered me to test this one.
The box is themed after the tv show, and is really funny. There is a small window on one side, covered by a cardboard panel; opening it reveals the toy. Inside is also a small booklet with a bit of information on the toy, but I found nothing as to whether it is waterproof or not. The box is no help either, so I decided to use the toy as if it wasn’t.
Because of this lack of information, I had to avoid using this toy in the bath or shower, and to clean it cautiously. However, this wand is all silicone and has no power chord, which makes it way easier to clean than regular wands. I had no problem with running it under the tap to wash it, and the toy just seems waterproof to me so I kind of came to assume that it was. When Lovehoney finally launched the product, I could have access to this info, and it turned out that it’s not fully waterproof and that it can’t be completely immersed in the water.
The control button is shaped after a wheel controller, which I find annoying because it is actually a button that you have to press on. It has to be held a few seconds to turn on the toy, and I honestly have to think about it each time. You then have to press it to scroll through single speeds and patterns. Many smaller vibrators with a single button work like that, but I think that there would have been enough space on this wand to add one or two more buttons and make it easier to use. Another great option would have been to make it an actual scroll wheel, just like Lovehoney’s regular size magic wand.
This vibrator is the only wand that I own that is USB rechargeable instead of mains powered. I must admit that I was afraid that it would not be as powerful because of that, and it is, of course, not as powerful as my Doxy, but it’s super powerful for it’s mini size. It is in no way lacking in power for me.
This small wand vibrator is just as powerful as some of my full sized ones, and it has a lot of patterns, which most of my wands don’t. The vibrations are also on the rumbly side, which I appreciate.
Because of its smaller size, this wand is easier to work with than the bigger sized ones. Its small body is easier to hold, and lighter in weight, and the smaller head leaves some space for penetration. It’s perfect if you like powerful toys and want to use them during penetration.
I enjoy using this wand, as I find it more convenient than the big mains powered wands, but I think that 3 single speeds is not enough for such a vibrator. I would like it to have a bigger range, and some less intense and more intense vibrations. The patterns are a good addition though, as most wands don’t have them, but since I don’t use them a lot, I would have preferred for the toy to offer more speeds instead.
Overall, I am very pleased with this wand vibrator. It is quite powerful and rumbly for a mini, rechargeable wand, and for me, its size offers many advantages over bigger wands. This vibrator is not perfect, and there are a few things that I would change about it, but it is a great mini wand and I would not hesitate to recommend it!
