My review:

Before getting the Wickedly Tempting bullet vibrator, I was curious about the Silencer bullet from Lovehoney (basically a pink and less expensive version of this one). No need to say that when I received an email offering this toy for free with a certain spend, I jumped on the occasion.

It seemed to offer many advantages over the Silencer. I own a couple toy from the Fifty Shades of Grey range, and I found them to be pretty good and great quality. In addition, the Wickedly Tempting vibrator looks better than the silencer, being black and classy instead of being another pink girly toy, and it comes with a storage bag. Also, as it is way more expensive than the Silencer bullet, I was expecting it to be better. Needless to say, my expectations were high.

The packaging:

This toy comes in the usual Fifty Shades of Grey packaging, and includes a pretty red silky pouch, which adds it a luxury touch.

The toy:

The toy is a long bullet vibrator, with a wide silicone ring in the middle, where the settings buttons are. The buttons are carved in the silicone and do not stick out, so when you are searching for them without looking, you can’t find them. When you press on them, a white light lights up and the toy goes on.

The product description states that there is only one constant speed, but I’ve counted about five. It’s hard to tell exactly how many there are because when you press the “+” button, the speed does not necessarily goes up, and you often have to press it a few times before it does. If you press the “–“ button, you go down the speeds, and if you press it when you’re on the lowest one, the toy will shut off. If you want to access to the patterns, hold on the + button twice. Once and it gets you to the strongest speed, and twice and you get to the patterns. There are also five, but to me, there are only two, because the other ones are all speed or strength variations of these two. If you then press “–“, it seems to go back to the constant speeds, so the only way to scroll through the patterns is by pressing the “+” button until you get back to the first one. I find there’s no logic in that. To shut down the toy, simply hold the “-“ button.

This toy features a lock mode, which I find to be great if you want to travel with your toy. Simply hold the “+” and “–“ buttons simultaneously when the toy is off and until the white light flashes. To unlock it, do it again.

When using the toy, as if the settings weren’t complicated enough, it’s hard to know where the control buttons are. The light may be on but it’s not that bright, and if you want to find the buttons, you have to search for them.

To charge the bullet, simply twist the bottom part and the cap will come off and uncover a USB plug. When the toy is charging, there’s a red light on, and it shuts off when it’s fully charged. You can plug it on your phone’s power adapter or on your computer, but I don’t recommend the later option as it can take more time. When I first charged this toy, I plugged it in my computer’s USB port and waited an hour, expecting it to be fully charged, but the light was still on, so I kept on waiting, and it took another full hour until it was finished charging.

In addition, this toy’s charge does not last very long in my opinion. Only a few sessions in, and already it can’t be used on the highest speed because it shuts down. I would advice charging it before each use or two. This is exactly true of you are not using it often. One time, I have fully charged it and then stored it, and when I came back for it, about a month later, the battery was completely drained down.

This vibrator is also waterproof, as there’s a little rubber ring to prevent water infiltrating the toy’s electric system. I don’t usually trust waterproof toys that rely only on a rubber ring to keep the water out, but as the junction is also made of silicone, I feel like this one can be trusted. Therefore, I have used this toy in the shower, and it came out still working perfectly.

One of the things that I love about this vibrator is how quiet it is. I have never come across a vibrating toy that was as quiet as this one. It is so silent that you could use it under the blanket when someone else is in the room, and they wouldn’t even notice. That, combined with its locking feature makes it a really discreet toy in my opinion. It’s also made in a way that it could easily be mistaken for a USB key.

How it feels:

This toy’s features are pretty much all that’s good about it. Before using it, it seems like a good toy, but once you get to business with it, you wonder why they didn’t put the effort in the toy itself rather than in the additional features. A toy may be waterproof, rechargeable, and come with a storage bag, but if it’s not pleasuring, it is worthless.

The vibrations are hard to qualify for a newbie like me. They are rumbly if compared to every other bullet vibrator I’ve used, but they are in no way Doxy rumbly. I even feel silly mentioning a Doxy here. Comparing it to another bullet vibrator like the Tango would probably be better, but I can’t because I don’t own one, and I’m pretty sure that the wickedly tempting vibrator couldn’t compare to it anyway due to how weak it is! However, its vibrations are sufficient to bring me to orgasm.

As if this toy’s weak vibrations weren’t enough, its settings are a real pain in the ass. The instructions aren’t detailed on that topic so I had to experiment with the patterns before using it so I could learn –or try to learn- how it works. However, even after doing that, I still was clueless. I had to put a lot of effort to be able to describe how it works earlier. However, at the time of trying it out, I was struggling to get from a constant speed to the patterns, and if I wanted to go back to a constant speed after that, I’d better just switch it off and start again from there. It was even more frustrating while in use. As a result, the first time I used it, this toy made me lose two orgasms! arghhh how frustrating is that! I was peacefully enjoying the patterns until I felt I was close to an orgasm and wanted to switch back to a constant speed. I couldn’t manage to do it, and my orgasm just happened while I was fighting with the toy. This even happened twice, until I decided I would stick to the constant settings from then on.

Conclusion:

My expectations for the Fifty Shades of Grey Wickedly Tempting vibrator were high, and they have not been met.

I find this toy to have really great features. It looks great and classy, comes with a storage pouch, is USB rechargeable, has a lockable travel mode, has an efficient seal making it waterproof, and finally, it is incredibly quiet and discreet. However, this toy’s features also include some flaws; It doesn’t hold its charge, the buttons are hard to find, and the settings are a real puzzle to navigate through. On top of that, the vibrations are weak. It is definitely not suited for power queens, but if you need a very discreet toy, it can be an interesting option.

It was a big disappointment, and it is not worth such a high price in my opinion. I haven’t tried the Silencer bullet so I don’t know how it compares, but I’ve heard some people say that it’s the same toy, only presented in a different way, and at a lower price. If it’s the case, I would definitely recommend it over the Wickedly Tempting, unless you don’t mind paying 30$ for a different colour and a storage bag.

If after reading my review you are still interested in getting the Fifty Shades of Grey Wickedly Tempting clitoral vibrator, you can get it here. At the moment, you get a free bath oil with it. Note that it’s been discontinued a while ago.
