Good vibrations recently sent me two dildos to review, the Pleasure Works Riley and First Mate. I must admit that I was more excited about the First Mate, because I was thinking that the Riley, with its basic shape would be just like any regular G-spot dildo, but I ended up being impressed.

The packaging

The Riley comes in a box featuring a picture of the dildo, and a few of information written on it. Inside the box, the dildo and the included bullet both come in a plastic bag. In addition, the Riley’s box was sealed with a sticker, a small touch that I always highly appreciate, as it allows peace of mind.

The toy

The Riley has a pretty basic shape; a curved shaft, and slightly bigger head, designed for G-spot stimulation. It’s made of silicone, which means that it’s 100% body safe. The material is pretty rigid, but the shaft is bendy. Mine is a glittery aqua, but it is also available in purple. It also has a flared base, which makes it harness compatible and totally safe for anal use.

tag-img_1914-copieThere’s a hole in the base that’s meant for the bullet vibrator which comes with it. I like that it is pretty deep and has a wider part for retrieval because that way, the bullet doesn’t stick out of the dildo, meaning that it can be used with the bullet inside when strapped on a harness. The problem is that once you’ve put the bullet in there, you’ll have to give up on your hopes of getting it back, cause it gets stuck so bad. I had the bad idea of applying some lube before inserting it inside its hole, and as a result, there’s even more suction preventing me from retrieving it. Several weeks have passed, and the lube has dried out, but it’s still stuck. I’m yet to find a way to get it out, and trust me, I’ve tried!

Edit: After publishing my review, Good Vibrations gave out some tips on how to get the bullet out. They suggest using corn starch and wiggling the bullet while applying pressure at the other end through the material. Wiggling the bullet didn’t work for me, but inserting my finger next to it in the hole, after applying corn starch, while rotating the dildo using the other hand did the trick!

tag-img_1910-copieThe bullet itself is a pretty simple single speed bullet vibrator. It’s made of ABS plastic and has a small rubber ring making it waterproof. The button is pretty easy to press, and switches the toy on/off. Finally, it works on small watch batteries, and is obviously buzzy.

In use

tag-img_1908-copieI was highly impressed by this simple dildo. I was not expecting it to easily hit my G-spot, but it does, and it does pretty comfortably too! The head is smooth, which does not stimulate the G-spot too intensely, and the shaft being curvy but bendy, allows good control of the amount of stimulation. Also, I find that there’s no particular need to apply any additional pressure in order for it to provide great sensations.

It’s shape makes it easy to reach the G-spot, but a bit harder to stimulate it, as it tends to rotate during use. After a few uses, I had the idea to hold it by the hole (holding through the base with my fingers) and it solved the problem. Once I started using it that way, it became incredibly easy to handle because I could just move my wrists without much concentration and the toy would effortlessly hit the spot.

The Riley is labelled as a vibrating dildo because of bullet vibrator, but to me it really is more of a dildo. I’m not the biggest fan of internal vibrations because I often find them to be too powerful, and the Riley’s vibrations don’t bother me at all. The vibrations do travel through the shaft, but since the bullet is not of the strongest, it wouldn’t be enough to satisfy people who are looking for a vibrator. It’s nice for a vibrating dildo, but it doesn’t compare to a dildo-shaped internal vibrator.

Conclusion

tag-img_1911-copieIn sum, I was pleasantly surprised by the Pleasure Works Riley. I wasn’t expecting a dildo with a shape that basic to effectively and effortlessly stimulate my G-spot. If you need a lot of pressure and very precise stimulation on your G-spot, or very strong vibrations, this toy may not work for you, but if you’re looking for a simple G-spot (or P-spot) dildo with a bit of vibrations that is also harness compatible, then this might be a good option for you.
