My review:
Glass is the one material that got me into dildos in the first place. It still is one of my favourite materials for sex toys, but as there are way more silicone options out there to review, I kind of overlooked it for a while. I’ve had an eye on the Icicle No 5 from the very beginning, before even buying my very first dildo. At that time, I was hesitating between this one and another glass model and ended up going for the later, and never got back to purchase the No 5. It did stay on my mind all this time, which is why Luxury Vibrator offered to send one for me to review, and finally getting my hand on it helped remind me of why I fell in love with glass toys in the first place.

The packaging
The No 5 comes in a nice box, with an opening sheet and a window below it to show the toy. The graphics and colours on the box are really pretty and give the whole packaging a luxurious look. Inside of the box is the dildo in a big foam insert, which is in no way ecological, but does protects the toy very well from external shocks during transport. There is no storage bag included, which I don’t mind most of the time, but with glass toys, I feel like I want something that is a little padded to store my toy in to prevent damaging the dildo.
The toy
Glass, of course, as a sex toy material can sound very scary, but it is in fact a very good option. It is non-porous and body safe, is easy to wash, can be used with any type of lubricant, and is perfect for temperature play as well! It is also rock hard and a lot heavier than silicone, which feels different in use and contributes to offering a different kind of stimulation. As with all other glass toys, the No 5 is very easy to clean up and can be completely sanitized in boiling water or on a sanitize cycle of a dishwasher. It can also be put in a freezer or icy water, as well as in hot water, for temperature play.
Oh, and another pros of glass dildos; have you seen just how pretty they are? The Icicle No 5 is no exception to that. It is also extremely affordable, but that also means that is not as resistant as handblown, indie glass pieces. It still is safe to use, but make sure to inspect it for cracks once in a while because being chain manufactured, they are more prone to breakage if dropped on a hard surface such as a ceramic floor.
As previously mentioned, the No 5 is a beautiful piece, consisting of a mildly curved shaft and a shaped head covered with a stunning blue swirl, adding texture to the toy. It has a base with makes it harness compatible and anal safe to a certain extent. Other than the spiraling shape, the glass is smooth and texture free, except for a small indentation on the tip of the head, which I thought was crack in the glass when I first noticed it.
In use

It had been so long since I last had used a glass dildo, and using the No 5 had me remember just what I have been missing out! I’ve had conflicting experiences with texture lately, but textured glass never had me down, ever!
The swirl on the No 5 dildo is quite pronounced, yet as the glass is so smooth and slippery, it goes in so easily without any drag or discomfort. These elements make textured glass such good toys because you can go hard on the texture without compromising the usability of the toy.
I can thrust the No 5 as I would with a very sleek dildo. The slightly curved head hits my G-spot, and because of the weight and hardness of the material, I do not need to go hard on there for satisfactory results to happen. While the head gently takes care of my G-spot, the spiraled shaft caresses the entry of my vagina nicely. The texture can be too much sometimes when I am not totally relaxed, but the smoothness of the toy just eases me into it every time. If you do not have a tensed vagina as I do, this is the kind of insertable toy which is stimulating enough on its own to be used with no clitoral stimulation, and will never feel overwhelming.
As it is with most curved toys, the Icicle No 5 often turns in use, with nothing to help keeping track of it. However, I find that even when it turns, making the head completely misplaced, it doesn’t take away the sensation.
Something about this toy, the texture or weight, just makes the whole shaft stimulating to every part of my vagina. The weight also allows for easy wiggling, which adds a good amount of pressure without the need for thrusting.
Finally, the weight of this dildo as well as the girth added by the spiraled parts kinda give a full feeling when left in place, even though it is not stretching. To me, this toy is pretty simple and perfectly balanced between texture, girth and length. In addition, it is quite versatile and has something to offer to almost everyone.
Conclusion
All in all, the Icicle No 5 is no exception to the greatness of glass. It is a gorgeous piece, that is very affordable yet delivers nicely. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to try texture or glass, and even more to those who want to try both! And for such a great price, you sure won’t be disappointed.
