My review:

I’ve been interested in the Echo for about as long as I know about Tantus, and I’ve kept debating buying it as a grab bag, until it was no longer available in this option. I was quite disappointed about that, but then Tantus came out with their Super Soft density, and after trying and loving the Vamp Super Soft, I changed my mind. I no longer needed the regular Echo, what I’ve been wanting from that moment is the Echo Super Soft!

The packaging

The Echo Super Soft comes in Tantus’s regular packaging. There isn’t much to say about it, as we all know what it looks like. However, I find it to be unnecessary big and also quite the opposite of discreet.

The toy

The Echo is quite a regular sized dildo. Its surface has numerous ridges on one side, which are moderately pronounced. They are quite gradual and smooth as well. The upper ridge forms some kind of a head shape. Although this dildo isn’t the largest, extra girth isn’t needed because of the generous texture that it has.

This toy is also made from silicone, a completely body safe material. It has a matte finish, which is not as smooth to the touch as a shiny one, while still feeling smooth and non-draggy. The density of Tantus’ silicone is very firm, and while this line is said to be “Super Soft”, it does not compare to a soft shore dildo from an indie brand for example. I would say that it definitely is softer than Tantus’ regular silicone, which is known for being very rigid, and that in my opinion, it does lay somewhere into the medium, and not the soft category.

Finally, the Echo Super Soft has a flared base, making it anal safe and harness compatible, to which you can insert a bullet. It comes with a pretty simple, single speed bullet, but you can fit most standardly sized bullet in it, such as the infamous We-Vibe Tango. On the back side of the base is also a stamp with Tantus’ logo, which I would rather have on the front side so it could be used to keep track of the toy’s rotation during use.

In use

No matter for how long I’ve been wanting to try the Echo, I was kind of nervous about it because of how many textured toys I’ve recently found to have too intense for me, making me doubt if I actually did enjoy texture at all. Well, it turns out that the Echo is the perfect textured toy. The ridges are pronounced yet gradual enough to provide stimulation without being uncomfortable, and the more average girth and moderately squishy texture make it even more accessible to most people because it is very comfortable to use. I haven’t tried the original, non Super Soft version of the Echo, but I am guessing that the ridges feel way more pronounced and stimulating, which could be a plus for some, but might have been too much for me.

Thrusting this dildo, even though it is textured, feels very smooth and comfortable. The first ridge, which is similar to a coronal ring does hit behind my pubic bone more than the others, but it does not hurt or get stuck, like some dildos with pronounced head sometimes do. Also, although it is only very slightly curved, it does stimulate the G-spot a decent amount. I am one who likes G-spot stimulation to be more gentle and not feel harsh, so I like it, even though it might not be enough for someone looking for a dildo that would provide more intense G-spot stimulation.

Although thrusting the Echo feels quite nice, my most favourite way to use it is my leaving it inserted with my legs closed around the base so to hold it in place, and rocking my hips. Doing that with regular dildos can be underwhelming sometimes, but the texture of the echo just hits and stimulates several good spots at once when I am doing that. While the head and ridges work on internal spots, the entry of the vagina is also gently taken care of by the texture on the remaining part of the shaft. This method offers just the perfect amount of stimulation, and while the Echo isn’t the girthiest dildo that you would think would give a feeling of fullness, but its texture fully makes up for that average girth on that matter.

I do like that the Echo has the option to insert a bullet, which kind of turns it into a vibrator. However, when using it as a dildo, the hollow part of the shaft near the base which would contain the bullet can be too bendy for adequate thrusting, and too squishable for the “leave it in” method. This issue can be fixed by using it with a bullet vibe inside of it to give it the rigidity and chore it is lacking because of the hollow space.

Having a bullet inserted during use doesn’t mean that you have to turn the vibrations on, but if you do, it does works nicely as well. I was also surprised by how well the included bullet performed. I was expecting it to be shitty, but when using it inside of the Echo, the vibrations are quite strong and transmit very well. The Tango also fits perfectly inside the hole and transmits its strong vibrations to the rest of the shaft. I personally prefer using these types of dildos without the vibrations, but it’s a nice option to have because you can vary the type of stimulation that you get from your toy, plus you get a free bullet with it! It is also a great option for people who are new to sex toys and are not sure whether they would prefer a dildo, an internal vibrator or a bullet vibrator because you literally get the three of them in only one buy!

Conclusion

Although I’ve had a lukewarm experience with texture dildos lately, the Tantus Echo Super Soft confirmed to me that I still enjoy textured toys a lot. It has everything that a textured silicone dildo should offer in my opinion. It has pronounced texture but that is not too harsh, and despite that, it is actually a very accessible dildo. I would recommend it to anyone who likes comfortable yet textured insertables, or who are wanting to get into the texture wave but fears it may not suit them.
